Moribana
Moribana is highly creative form of ikebana in which all sorts
of materials can be arranged freely. There are many styles, approaches
and methods, including those that emphasise the colour, texture or shape
of plants. An artist can express a wide range of images and impressions
and above all, create natural landscape views.
Heika
Whereas Moribana was originated and developed by the Ohara School, Heika,
literally 'vase flowers' is part of the ancient historical tradition of
ikebana. The tradition is called nageire-bana in Japanese, literally,
'thrown in flowers'. The heika of the Ohara School is a modern, sophisticated
interpretation of this traditional style.
